- We were sorry to learn that Chappie Phillips has passed away. Chappie was a very well known Woodlands
resident for his whole life. Chappie?s grandfather was the local blacksmith in Woodlands. The Phillips Transport
business began with a horse and dray and built up to what it is today. When the current school building was
built Phillips transport had to unload all the bricks by hand off the train and onto their truck, then unload them
all at the school by hand. Chappie was a great supporter of Woodlands School and we extend our deepest
sympathy to the Phillips family.
