- Eric (1913-1982) was one of three sons of James and Violet Olive Krome. Born in Brisbane, he came to North Arm with his family in 1915. After leaving school he worked for approximately two years in the North Arm Golden Surprise Gold Mine and later engaged in timber cutting and farming. He married Winnie on 7 July 1938 and the couple had six children - Beryl, Bette, Lindsay, Colin, Noela and Ken. Winne was the daughter of John (Jack) Andrew Wilkinson and Florence Annie Wilkinson (nee Roberts) of North Arm. During WWII Eric and Winnie moved to Brisbane, were Eric was employed as a truck driver by the American 81st Air Force. On returning to North Arm he bought his father's cane farm on what is now the corner of Kromes Road and Gold Creek Road. He worked the farm for twenty two and a half years, from 1944 until ca 1967. Eric serving as a Maroochy Shire Councillor for Division 5 from 1961-1966.
