- John Grout Denby.
It appears that his mother Martha Grout married John Denby but I'm not sure how long the marriage lasted. In 1841 John Grout Denby is living with his Grout grandparents and Martha is living with her brother. I haven't yet found a second marriage or a death for Martha. Her father Thomas Grout states in his Will that any money or property to go to her is to be in her name and not that of her husband or any future husband, which makes me think that John Denby might not have been the best of characters or husbands....
