Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle at Christchurch Hospital on Thursday, December 30, 2021. This service will be by Vaccine Pass entrance only. A Funeral Service for Matthew will be held at St Barnabas Anglican Church, Fendalton Road, Fendalton, Christchurch, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2.00pm.

Matt was more than a friend, he was a mentor to my children, almost a family member.You can be proud of his accomplishments Marilyn, he was a great husband and father,and I am pleased he is wearing his beloved jandals for his journey,bon voyage my friend.RIP.XXXXXX

Matthew was a sincere friend and work colleague during our apprenticeship and following working life at NAC and Air New Zealand. My very sincere condolences to all family and friends of Matthew.

I remember meeting Matt first day of our apprenticeship in 1977 and I have so many fond memories. From all the antics during training school, drinking round at his flat in Caledonian Rd and then always on a Friday night round at Clare rd playing ridiculous computer games. But its the card games which hold the best memories for me. So long old friend, I will truly miss you.
