- John and Bridget and sons Michael, Edmund and James were all lost at sea on passage to Australia in 1855. Not 1859 as per Lancefield Monument or 1842 as per Castlegrace, Tipperary monument. Their ship "The Guiding Star" was last sighted sailing into the bay of a horseshoe shaped iceberg, said to be miles accross. Also perished Judith Aherne a niece of John and Bridget Glashen a niece of Bridget.
