- He died on 30th July 1944, on board Halifax Bomber NA 503, 102 Squadron which took off from RAF Pocklington, Yorkshire to bomb targets in the Normandy area. Nothing was heard of the aircraft after take off until it was discovered that the aircraft had crashed 3-miles N/W of Morton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire. He was 24.
