- The Aberdeen Directory, as stated in 'The Goldsmiths of Aberdeen', records Alexander as a jeweller employed by William Jamieson at 87 Broad Street in 1827. In 1827 Alexander lived at 34 St Andrews Street. In 1831 he had moved to 62 Guestrow and in the following year to 63 Guestrow where he lived until at least 1838. In 1840 he lived at 79 Guestrow. Alexander was not in business on his own account.
