Notes: Now the Church of the Good Shepherd
History
The Church of the Good Shepherd was built in 1981 to replace the Anglican Church built in 1880 and
the Presbyterian Church built 1877 (both demolished).
The St Stephen's Hall (dedicated in 1917) and the St Andrew's Hall (dedicated in 1911) were
incorporated into the new church structure and the best interior furnishings (mostly from St Stephen’s
Church) were also used. The pipe organ, originally a bequest from Miss M Ion, came from St
Stephen's Church.
The Church of the Good Shepherd is now a co-operating parish for both the Presbyterian and
Anglican religions. OpenStreetMap
