Notes: In 1879 1340 acres of land were acquired for a proposed Home for delinquent boys. In 1893, depressed economic conditions saw its inception as the Rookwood Asylum for the Poor Aged and infirm. In 1906 it became Lidcombe State Hospital and home and in 1966 became Lidcombe Hospital, a major regional facility.
