My grandmother, Aileen Maybird Murray, born 14 May 1890
Aileen photographed walking in Lambton Quay Wellington in 1930s. She was a fashionable dresser and always wore a hat and glove(s) in town. As a young boy, I was fascinated to watch how, with her one arm, she sat on a sofa and drank tea without ever spilling a drop.
